Volunteer Opportunities
Clarendon Health System is able to serve the health and wellness
needs of the community thanks to our many dedicated volunteers. Our
volunteers provide valuable services that supplement the services provided
by our physicians and professional staff. They also contribute to the
quality patient care the community has come to know and help to create
an understanding of the hospital and its services throughout the community.
Clarendon
Health System recognizes and appreciates the contributions of its
volunteers who devote personal time and provide assistance to
the patients, their families and the hospital staff. To show
our appreciation, active volunteers are eligible for the following
benefits:
•
Volunteer uniform
• Tax deductions for mileage to and from Clarendon Memorial
• Annual flu vaccination
• Free meal per four hours shift worked
• Annual awards and recognition luncheon

Hospital Volunteers
The
smiling faces you see when you come to Clarendon Memorial are some
of our volunteers. They staff the information
desk in Clarendon Memorial’s
front lobby, greeting our guests and providing directional
and patient location information. They serve as roving hosts/hostesses
who provide for the
needs of families in the main lobby as well as other
areas of the hospital. Our volunteers assist outpatients and newly admitted
patients
in finding
their way to various departments in the hospital.
They also
provide
clerical assistance throughout the hospital.
Clarendon
Memorial Hospital Auxiliary
Thanks
to the fundraising efforts of Clarendon Memorial Hospital Auxiliary
volunteers, several of Clarendon
Memorial’s departments
receive equipment that helps them deliver the
best possible care to our patients.
Auxiliary
volunteers raise funds through several projects and events throughout
the year. Items purchased
by
these funds have included wheelchairs
for patient transport, software for diabetes
education through the dietary department, a Global Positioning
System for Emergency Medical Services,
office equipment for various departments and
much more.
The
Auxiliary:

Holds a jewelry show at least twice a year

• Coordinates the Lights for Love Campaign that runs from mid-November
