A growing number of people yearn for small town life. For many, it’s the simple pleasures of family and friends, of having neighbors who are willing to pitch in when you need a hand and celebrate when there’s anything worth celebrating.
They long for the ability to slow down and appreciate life. They want the opportunity to head to the big city for a big time and then return to the comforts of home, whether a home in the city, a lake house or country property. They also long for a rewarding career.
These are big reasons to choose to live and work with Clarendon Health System in Manning, South Carolina.
If you like beautiful weather, Manning offers mild winters and springs, balmy summers and crisp falls. Our wonderful climate is perfect for those who enjoy outdoor sports of all kinds as well as hunting, fishing, boating, and gardening. Clarendon County has numerous golf courses, the Santee National Wildlife Refuge, camping, canoeing and kayaking, and other opportunities to enjoy the area’s natural resources.
Manning is home to the annual “Striped Bass Festival” at beautiful Lake Marion, a festival for fishermen and families alike. Lake Marion is popular for boaters as well and many residents make their homes at Lake Marion. This gem is also a destination for retirees who want to be active year-round.
The city of Manning is the county seat of Clarendon County, and conveniently located just off I-95. This puts us about an hour from Charleston, 1.5 hours from Columbia, the state’s capital, and less than two hours from a number of beautiful beaches. Not a bad place to be!
Clarendon Health System is one of the county’s largest employers and is a not-for-profit health system. We are unique in that we are a quasi-governmental entity known as the Clarendon Hospital District, a subdivision of the state of South Carolina. The Board of Trustees is recommended by the community and approved by the Governor. The new hospital expansion was achieved through a bond referendum, which citizens approved via a special vote.
Clarendon Health System’s physicians, staff, and volunteers work together to provide safe, quality care to our patients and a welcoming environment for their families and guests. We hope you will take time to learn more about our wonderful community and our health system during your job search!
